SADDLE ROCK LANDMARK IN WENATCHEE

The Cascade Subaru Kid's Club lost some momentum as school started and then the wildfires filled our valley with smoke for a month. A whole month of woefully hazardous air! To escape the smoke, we had a little indoor gathering at Apple Valley Gymnastics to get the wiggles out - it's a great venue for indoor play.

We were FINALLY able to get back outside on October 25th and hit the lower trails on the north side of Saddle Rock. It's a prominent landmark in Wenatchee and the trails on the Jacobson Preserve are beautiful. Mother Nature smiled on us and it was a sunny gem of a day shining out of a very dark, rainy week.

There were three of us moms, excited to get the kids back out on the trail. Two baby boys were in carriers and Naomi and Roper were our little hikers?or runners as it turned out. The three-year-olds tore the trail up with their enthusiasm.

The mischievous duo also managed to work in some wrestling matches, rock throwing, jumping contests and mud "art", reminding us that the outdoors are twice as fun when we're seeing it through the eyes of children.

We hiked for about an hour and a half, grateful for the clean air, gorgeous views, and happy kids. I can't wait to hit the trail again this month!
